Can blog posts actually help to land that dream dev job?

I can assure you I asked myself that same question. Back when I was a student with an online coding bootcamp one of their requirements was to write multiple blog posts. Initially I hated the idea.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m far from a writer. I’m in no way illiterate but writing just doesn’t come natural. You should see how long it has taken me to write this article. In addition to writers block, coming up with dev ideas to write about that people want to read and learn, these have only added to the time and stress. If your at all like me not all hope is lost. Consider these pointers when writing your next blog posts. Then I’ll share my story.

Help Teach Someone

Remember there are plenty of people that are or have been exactly where you are. With each blog post you write you now have the opportunity to help that individual learn something they didn’t know before. Or maybe they are just having a hard time grasping a concept, but now because of your article they better understand a topic that has been plaguing them.

Personally I make sure to read and follow certain industry specific individuals because of their knowledge and experience they bring to the table. Just like them as you write you bring a different perspective than others. It feels good to know…
